Sungkai at The Atrium Cafe.

One of my favorite venue to breakfast. It’s comfy even when there is a big crowd and the food selection is wonderful. This year they also have Ramadhan stalls are also available at level one with various choices of malay kueh sampler, mezze sampler and Ramadhan drinks open from 6pm to 11pm. It’s a good place to just hang-out with friends & families.

The Sungkai Buffet cost $28 per adult and $14 per child. For reservations or further enquiries please call 2418888. More photos here.

All good at I-Lotus. I think it’s more than four years in a row now that I’ve never missed a Sungkai session at I-Lotus. Food choice is simply a lot and the quality is consistently good. So that’s why you must always make your reservations as this place is always packed.

Their Hot Plate Grill is probably their most popular part of the buffet. You can choose from crabs, prawns, stingrays and fish to be freshly cooked for you. You can also have various fried items, soup noodles (must try tom yam), rojak and desserts such as ABC and local cakes too. And there is even so much more. I doubt it if one can try every single one of them in one sitting.

And all this for only B$16.80 (Adult) and B$9.80 (Child). So it is not surprising to see the Chinese community frequenting the Sungkai buffet too. Besides Sungkai buffet, I-Lotus also offers Sahur Steamboat Buffet (1030pm-1am) at B$11.80 (Adult) and B$7.80 (Child).

I think Tasek Brasseire at Radisson Hotel serves just the right amount of items on it’s Sungkai buffet. Must try dishes would be the Sup Kambing Berempah, Pais Ikan, Traditional Bubuk Lambok Kambing , Roti Potato Masala and (my personal favorite), Whole Lamb marinated Arabian Style.

It’s definitely value for money. They also served Satay, BBQ Chicken/Lamb/Fish and also Mee Rebus. There is a free flow of cordial/soft drinks and of course it wouldn’t be complete without some Teh Tarek to enjoy the delicious desserts with. I truly enjoyed the experience.

The Sungkai buffet is available from 6pm-1030pm and cost B$23 (plus 10% service charge) per person. I’m there is 10 paying adults on one receipt, the 11th is free. You can also make use of their Mutiara Ballroom if you have a group of more than 30 persons breaking fast. For reservations, you can call 2244272.
